The lap

Kingswood Ring is the high-speed classic: a start straight north into a tight right hairpin, fast esses, a long back straight east, two chicanes either side of a fast double left, a sweeper and a long flat-out run west with one kink, then the bus stop onto the straight. The road is seventeen to twenty-two metres wide with gravel to the rail, so it invites commitment, and at 3.3 kilometres it is nearly the longest lap in the game. The chicanes are where the lap is made; the straights are where it is defended.

Corner by corner

  1. Start and finish on the straight, heading north.
  2. The tight right hairpin.
  3. The fast esses.
  4. The long back straight, east.
  5. The first chicane.
  6. The fast double left.
  7. The second chicane.
  8. The sweeper.
  9. The long flat-out run west, with one kink.
  10. The bus stop onto the straight.

How to drive it

  • Take the double left as one corner: a wide entry to the first part is the only way to be flat through the second.
  • The bus stop is the last chance to pass. Brake late on the inside and the straight is yours.
  • The gravel slows you but does not end the race. If you have to run wide, run wide on the exit, not the entry.

Race it

Kingswood Ring unlocks in the career for 24,000 crew cash, earned from race prizes. Once it is yours it can turn up in the championship and in the Daily Challenge, where a wet day means less grip. Your best lap here goes to its own Game Center board, and any lap can be sent to a friend as a ghost.
