The lap
Riviera Streets is the tightest circuit in the game and the one that rewards precision over everything else. A long start straight along the top of the harbour leads into a tight turn 1, then the road climbs to the casino square and drops through a twelve-metre hairpin into the tunnel sweep along the water. The harbour chicane, the swimming-pool esses and two tight corners bring it back onto the straight. The road is under six metres wide in the tightest corners and never more than ten, with walls the whole way: there is nowhere to put a mistake.
Corner by corner
- Start and finish on the straight along the top of the harbour.
- Turn 1, tight.
- The climb to the casino square.
- The hairpin, twelve metres across.
- The tunnel sweep along the water.
- The harbour chicane.
- The swimming-pool esses.
- Two tight corners onto the straight.
How to drive it
- The hairpin is first gear and all patience. Get it wrong and the whole tunnel run is slow.
- Through the esses, clip the inside kerbs but never the walls; there is a metre of margin and no more.
- Overtaking happens on the start straight and almost nowhere else. Make the lap clean and let the draft do the work.
Race it
Riviera Streets unlocks in the career for 30,000 crew cash, earned from race prizes. Once it is yours it can turn up in the championship and in the Daily Challenge, where a wet day means less grip. Your best lap here goes to its own Game Center board, and any lap can be sent to a friend as a ghost.
